Residential Faculty Development Programme for Special Education and Rehabilitation Inaugurated by NIEPVD
The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NIEPVD) inaugurated a five-day Residential Faculty Development Programme approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) today. Scheduled from November 18 to November 22, 2024, this programme aims to enhance the competencies of educators and professionals working in the fields of special education and rehabilitation.
The inaugural ceremonyof the event was commenced by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The prograamme was graced by the presence of NIEPVD’s officiating Director, Er. Manish Verma, the chief guest Swami Asimatmananda (Secretary, Ramkrishna Mission, Dehradun) , Assistant Professors Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Vinod Kain, and Dr. Surendra Dhalwal, Shri Manjeet Singh Saini, and the Principal of Model School Shri Amit Sharma.
In this five-day residential programme , 42 educators are participating from across the country from different states such as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and others all of whom are actively engaged in the field of rehabilitation and special education.
The programme will feature extensive discussions on key topics such as the pedagogical changes introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, advancements in technology within the rehabilitation sector, and strategies for the effective inclusion of persons with disabilities. These sessions will be conducted by experts from institutions like IGNOU, Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, CRC Sundernagar, and NIEPVD.
