    NIEPVD Inaugurates Five-Day Residential Faculty Development Programme

    The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NIEPVD) has inaugurated a five-day Residential Faculty Development Programme, approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi, on the topic “Academic Interventions & Teaching Strategies for Persons with Disabilities.” Held from March 27 to 31, 2025, the programme aims to enhance the skills of educators and professionals in special education and rehabilitation.

    The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Gaurav Singhal, IAS, State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Uttarakhand; Prof. Atul, Prant Upadhyaksh, SAKSHAM Uttarakhand; Er. Manish Verma, Representative Director, NIEPVD; and Dr. Jasmer Singh, Programme Coordinator, along with other officials.

    The programme will feature expert-led technical sessions focusing on teaching strategies and academic interventions for persons with disabilities.

    Bringing together 50 professionals from multiple states, this initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening rehabilitation education and skill development.

    Programme fetured Epert-led Technical Sessions focusing on teaching strategies and academic interventions for Persons with Disabilities

    The program was attended by Mr. Amit Sharma (Principal), Dr. Vinod Kain (Assistant Professor), Mr. Sunil Shirpurkar, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, along with other officials, trainees, and participants.

    50 professionals from various states participated in the faculty development programme, all of whom are actively engaged in the field of rehabilitation and special education.
