    Revised Common Recruitment Rules for the Post of Director of National Institutes under the Department

    The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, has issued the revised Common Recruitment Rules for the post of Director of National Institutes under the Department vide Ref. No. N-2206/27/2026-NI (e-54260), dated 25.08.2026.

    Remuneration – Contract ₹1,75,000/- per month, with annual increment @ 3%
    Maximum Age 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications
    Tenure Initially 03 years, extendable up to a maximum of 05 years, subject to DoPT norms

    Eligibility for Deputation

    Officers under Central/State Government, Universities, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous/Statutory Organizations, drawing salary in Level 13 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in research, rehabilitation or administration in any field, preferably in the field of Disability.

    Alternatively, officers with 5 years’ regular service in Level 12 or equivalent and 5 years’ relevant experience, or 8 years’ regular service in Level 11 or equivalent and 5 years’ relevant experience, may be considered.

    The candidate must possess a Post Graduate Degree in any discipline, preferably in Special Education or Rehabilitation, from a recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. Ph.D. in any discipline is desirable.

    Eligibility for Contract

    The candidate should have 15 years’ experience in research, rehabilitation or administration in any Government/Registered Non-Government Entity/Organization/Company, preferably in the field of Disability.

    The applicant should have been drawing a minimum CTC of ₹6,00,000/- per annum during the last five years.

    The candidate must possess a Post Graduate Degree in any discipline, preferably in Special Education or Rehabilitation, from a recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. Ph.D. in any discipline is desirable.

    Important Conditions

    • The recruitment process will comprise both Deputation and Contract methods.
    • Applications for both methods will be invited together.
    • Contractual selection will be subject to non-suitability of the candidate on Deputation.
    • The post is a Selection post.
    • Probation is not applicable.
    • UPSC consultation is not applicable in respect of Autonomous Bodies.
