Post Budget Webinar on DEPwD Budget Announcements – 09 March 2026
Honourable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, while addressing the Post-Budget Webinar, described the initiative of participation in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas as a strong example of public participation. He said that over the past decade, a significant change has taken place in the country’s mindset. Today, every young person in India—from villages and towns to cities—wants to do something new and innovative. This mindset of the new generation is the country’s greatest strength and its most valuable asset for a bright future.
To capitalize on this potential, he emphasized the need to continuously modernize the education system, as India is moving towards becoming an innovation-driven economy. In this series of post-budget webinars, lakhs of people, including experts, beneficiaries, and stakeholders associated with the system, are actively participating. These discussions are generating practical suggestions, solutions to existing challenges, and new energy to move forward towards the vision of a developed India.

While participating virtually in the session on “Divyangjan Sahara Yojana” during the Post Budget Webinar 2026, the Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Honourable Shri. Virendra Kumar, stated that the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to connect society and communities with the policy-making process through such webinars. He described this initiative as truly commendable.
He further said that the objective of this webinar is to understand the views of different representatives of society. Knowing what society thinks and how the government can make its efforts more effective to advance the empowerment of persons with disabilities is the core purpose of this discussion.

The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) actively participated in the Post Budget Webinar organized regarding the Budget Announcements related to the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Government of India. The session was held on 09 March 2026 and included important discussions on initiatives such as Divyangjan Kaushal Yojana and Divyangjan Sahara Yojana.
Officials and staff members from NIEPVD attended the webinar through the designated video conferencing and live streaming platforms. The session included addresses from senior dignitaries of the Government of India and focused on strengthening policy implementation, skill development, and support systems for Divyangjan.
Participation in the webinar provided valuable insights into the Government’s vision for empowering persons with disabilities and highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and stakeholder engagement in achieving inclusive development. The discussions also offered practical perspectives and suggestions that will help institutions, align their initiatives with national priorities and contribute effectively towards the goal of an inclusive and empowered society.
