    FREE COACHING CLASSES FOR STUDENTS WITH Visual Impairment & Locomotor Disabilities

    The Institute invites applications from individuals with at least 40 percent visual and locomotor disabilities for free coaching classes preparing candidates for SSC/RRB, and Banking/Insurance/PSU recruitment exam. These classes are offered under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, through its Free Coaching Scheme for Students with Disabilities.

    Eligibility Criteria

    1. Educational Qualification

      • SSC/RRB: candidate has passed class 12 or is studying in class 12 and passed with minimum 50% marks in class 10.
      • Banking/Insurance/PSU: candidates having completed the bachelor level course, or studying in the final year of the bachelor degree course and secured minimum 50% marks in class XII exam.
      • Students with benchmark disability i.e. 40% or more as defined in RPwD Act, 2016 and having a valid certificate of disability issued by the competent authority as prescribed.
      • Aadhar number or aadhar enrollment number is mandatory.
      • Unique Disability ID(UDID) number or UDID Enrollment number with disability certificate is mandatory
      • Declaration to the effect that the candidate is not availing benefits under any other coaching scheme of the Centre or State Government.

        • Total annual family income from all sources should be Rs. 8.00 lakhs or less

      2. Income Certificate
      For self-employed parents/guardians: Income certificate by a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar.
      For employed parents/guardians: Consolidated Income certificate by a Revenue Officer after obtaining income certificate from the employer.

    2. Selection Process:

      • In case the applications received from the candidates exceeds the seats available for the coaching i.e. 20, the entrance test/interview will be conducted by the institute to select the candidates for the coaching. The final selection will be purely on merit basis in the particular category.
      • Candidates with visual disabilities must have proficiency in Braille or should be computer literate in order to read and write independently. All the exams will be conducted without scribe except in the exceptional cases.
      • The total marks of Entrance Paper will be of 100 marks.
      • Passing marks in entrance exam: 40%.
      • 50% of seats shall be reserved for Persons with Visual Disabilities. The remaining 50% shall be reserved for Persons with Locomotor Disabilities. If applicants are not found in the respective category, then seat shall be allotted to the other target group.

      Financial Assistant

      The stipend/maintenance allowance, disability allowance and book allowance may be credited directly to the candidate’s Aadhar enabled bank account as per the rates fixed under the Scheme:

      Furnishing of False Information:

      On furnishing false information/document, established on verification, the candidate will be liable for criminal proceedings and action will be initiated for recovery of the amount released, with 15% compound interest thereon. Such candidates will also be blacklisted for any future benefits under the Government Schemes.
